R.E.M. anuncia mais uma coletânea e três músicas novas

A banda R.E.M. anunciou seu fim na semana passada, após 31 anos, mas os fãs podem parar de chorar um pouco. O cantor Michael Stipe revelou nesta segunda (25) três músicas inéditas do grupo, segundo o site NME.

"We All Go Back to Where We Belong", "A Month of Saturdays" e "Hallelujah" estarão em uma compilação dos 40 maiores sucessos do grupo, a ser lançada em novembro.

O disco se chamará "REM, Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982 - 2011" ("REM, Parte Mentiras, Parte Coração, Parte Verdade, Parte Lixo, 1982 - 2011).

As três faixas foram gravadas na cidade-natal da banda, Athens, no estado da Geórgia. Jacknife Lee foi o produtor responsável.

Segundo Stipe, vasculhar as músicas e memórias de 31 anos foi uma grande jornada.

"Percebemos que essas canções desenham uma linha sob os últimos 31 anos trabalhando juntos", afirmou.
